AI can help you write, organize, explain, translate, summarize, and plan. But before you paste information into any AI tool, pause for a second and ask: should this information be shared here?
Privacy is not about fear. It is about good habits. The more useful AI becomes, the more important it is to protect personal, business, financial, medical, legal, and private information.
A simple rule helps: if you would not post it publicly, send it to a stranger, or leave it printed on a table, think carefully before putting it into an AI tool.

What not to share casually
Avoid pasting passwords, private keys, Social Security numbers, banking details, client records, medical records, legal documents, confidential business files, and private conversations into random AI tools.
Use placeholders
You can often get help without sharing the real details. Replace a person's name with "Guest A," an address with "property address," and a company name with "our company." AI can still help with the structure, tone, and ideas.
Know the difference between tools
